As the UK leaves the EU, increased import/export regulations will effectively create more friction in trade between Britain and Northern Ireland (NI), the Republic of Ireland (ROI) and the rest of the EU.
Businesses need to be able to demonstrate to HMRC that they are paying the correct levels of duty for imported and exported products. To do this they must clearly show where their inventory has been including which borders it has or, more importantly, has not crossed and prove it has been received at specified locations.
Most current systems simply log the origin and intended final destination of a shipment. P2D’s system is unique in that it tracks products in real-time as they move and stores product information to build a log of the relevant sanitary and phytosanitary details verifying the quality and safety of the individual ingredients of a food item as well as the final product.
Through P2D’s capabilities, businesses can automatically provide all required documentation to border forces to prove the integrity of their products as well as ensure that further duties do not need to be levied as a result of crossing unauthorized borders.
P2D will, in practice, create a frictionless trade border between GB and NI, ROI and the EU.
